You all know how much I simply love Fireproof. Speaking of Fireproof, you really You Never Know Who Is In Your Theater … I just thought that was so neat. I wish Kirk Cameron would stop by our theater. That would be amazing!
Before Fireproof came out, I would YouTube it and watch interviews, music videos, and trailers with Caleb, which I still do by the way.
There is one song in the movie that really touches me. When I first heard it in the trailer, the words brought tears to my eyes. I listen to this song everyday multiple times, added it to my playlist, and sing it all day long!
I was going to share the video on here, but they have it so you can’t embed it.
I do have a playlist for you to listen to as you read the words and let them speak to you. Or you can go view the music video here.
to come and go as we please
It’s a house we enter in
then commit to never leave
So lock the door behind you
Throw away the key
Work it out together
Let it bring us to our knees
Love is a shelter
in a raging storm
Love is peace
in the middle of a war
And if we try to leave;
May God send angels to guard the door
No, Love is not a fight
but its something worth fighting for
To some love is a word
that they can fall into.
But when they’re falling out
keeping that word is hard to do
Love is a shelter
in a raging storm
Love is peace
in the middle of a war
And if we try to leave;
May God send angels to guard the door
No, Love is not a fight
but its something worth fighting for
Love will come to save us
If we’ll only call
He will ask nothing from us
but demand we give our all
Love is a shelter
in a raging storm
Love is peace
in the middle of a war
And if we try to leave;
May God send angels to guard the door
No, Love is not a fight
but its something worth fighting for.
Cause I Will Fight For You
Would You Fight For Me
It’s Worth Fighting For.
While the song was used in Fireproof to talk about marriage, this song is more importantly about our love of Christ. The second verse really struck some cords with me and I wrote an article for GGM this month in my column, C.I.A. titled The Used. I looked at how we really love Jesus, but when the going gets tough we put Him to the wayside and fall out when He should be the one that we turn to. His love for us really is a shelter and peace and its something we need to fight for everyday because everyday we are attacked to push Christ aside. We need to love Him and grow everyday loving Him more.
Matthew 22:37
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
Love is not a fight, but its something worth fighting for!

Amanda,
What a touching song and a touching post you wrote! This song is so beautiful. I remember hearing it in the movie and I’m glad that you shared it along with the lyrics.
My desire is to fight for love as well and to love God with everything in me. And you’re right: it is worth fighting for!
Love,
Brooke

Amen! I love this song- I just watched the movie with some friends last night. It was wonderful. Besides being an enriching movie for people to watch, it was also worth supporting for the sake of the Christian film company that made it.
Thanks for the good post!

Wow! Neat song! Thank you for sharing! That’s is so true! Love, true love that is, is a fight worth fighting. The love of God is worth fight for. It’s worth the hardship of life as a Christian (if it really is a hardship. The things that God pours out upon me are so much more than the things that the world offers)!
Have a wonderful day! Blessings to you and yours!
In Christ~
