My Dude!

Published in Cal-Eb, I'm Photogenic, Me Myself and I, Reflections of a 19 year old, Super Favorites, The Daily Life at The Daily Planet
We had some beautiful weather a couple weeks ago and since Jocelyn needed a picture of me and a picture of Caleb for Mom’s New Design, we decided to go out and try and get some pictures.
I must say we got some really great ones and even tho they have been on my facebook and twitter for a few weeks, not all my readers are on there, and I know y’all just are dying to see them. ;)

I just can’t say how much I love this Dude. He is such a sweetie!

Photobucket

Oh yeah! He is so sweet! I love him even when he runs wild around the house and yells like a horse. I love his “mornin’ kisses” and his “night kisses”. I love his hugs and his sweet sweet smile.

He is my Dude. I am so blessed that God gave him to our family and that I have such a good relationship with him. I missed most of his infancy because I was in rebellion and wanted nothing to do with him. I wanted to hold on to my rebellion and wanted nothing to do with anyone in my family, especially the new baby. I LOVE babies and my rebellion wouldn’t let me be a sister to him til he was about a year old. I very much regret that I missed his first year, but I  am glad that God gave me a second chance to be a big sister to him and love him! I can’t imagine my life without him and nor do I want to! He is so awesome and super! ;)

Caleb, I love ya boy. Can’t wait to see the man you become! You’re super!

Aren’t those pics just the cutest? I so love them! :)
Love, Prayers and Blessings,

I am so glad you are such a great big sister to him. Boys need a big sister doting on them. I only wish we had the understanding we now have when Eric – and even Isaac – were babies. Especially Eric.

Caleb sure is a cutie, and he can be the sweetest little guy.

What really drew me back was reading Stepping Heavenward by Elizabeth Prentiss.

When Caleb was about 6months old (Jan. ‘06), I was going to run away and leave my family because back when Caleb was born (June ‘05) I had done some pretty deceitful things and caused a big problem with my parents. There was a giant rift in the relationship.
Because I was tired of everything and being in trouble, I decided to leave. I actually made plans to leave for good, and almost did so! AGAIN!
I then realized that if I did this I could not only change my future, but the future of my husband and my children and all the other generations of my family. My sins could be the cause of magnitudes of problems for 4 generations and I didn’t want to do that! I knew that was not want God wanted for my life. I knew that if I left that would mean that I was taking myself out of what God had already laid down for me, and putting myself on a different path that who knows what would of happened.
So Feb. ‘06, I decided that no matter how much I didn’t like what my mom told me, or how many fights we would have, I would do whatever it took and I was going to stay home. Even when I decided this I was fighting constantly with my parents and in a strong state of rebellion. After I decided to stay home, I was still rebellious and not living for God.
I then needed a book to read and grabbed SH off my shelf. I had read about 20 pages when I realized that even though I had decided to stay I was not being a real Godly Christian about it. I was not doing what God wanted me to fully, I was only doing it halfheartedly. It was then that I just cried out to God and told him that I could not do this on my own. I realized that I did need Him to help me. And just like He says in His word, He did help me!

My parents and I have still been through many struggles and problems recently, but God is faithful to help us overcome them, “because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”

Dude is super and so are you.

    Isn’t God good!?
He loves us and woos us back to Himself.

Funny how my blog started out about Homeschooling.
Little did I know God was actually calling me to blog. For a season, anyways.

Actually, God called us to Homeschool and is there with us through it all.

I do not have a strong relation with my brothers as others would. I am trying to break out of my ?shelfishness? Every time he asks to play with him I either ignore him or say a demanding “No”. Although I did stay outside with him off and on while he was riding his four wheeler. I am trying to change all my ways in life, now. As I am getting older and has been giving more responsbility. I striving to be a good role model for my brothers, as I want them to be strong Christian men. :)

    Hi Miss Amanda,
Thank you so much for commenting what brought you to a saving knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus.

I was wondering if the book `Stepping Heavenward` is more of a girl book or can a guy read it?
We are really struggling right now with our 17yr.
I truly believe he wants to do right, but he keeps trying to do it in his own strength and continues to fail. I told him today it’s a heart issue and only God can change that.

My sister was born then I got married…She was the youngest at my wedding 6 monthes:) I really wished I would have been there to see her grow up each day…I am Very close to my family so close others think it is strange and I find it strange that they are not?

Enjoy….being with your family I have learned that it takes effort to get along with others and that does include family.

I am now 39 years old with two daughters of my own and my sister is 19. God is Good!!

I need to get her set up to read Growing in Grace! Is that specifically for girls? Or all ages? Anyway-I’ve blogged for 3 years at Xanga, but am new to blogspot…would love for you to stop by and follow me! Thanks for shining your light so brightly for the Lord!

I wanted to thank you for your stellar suggestion to my mother, namely, apple cider vinegar and water. What follows is a short article that I may post to my blog about my horrifying experiences that night… :-) Seriously, though, The next time you have an idea about making me consume something that tastes that bad, could you run it by me first? Please? (Note: I’m kidding. Kinda.)

FYI: Avoiding Strep Throat is not a bad idea

I have strep throat. It’s horrible, and I don’t recommend it. After finally realizing what it was, and taking steady doses of Tylenol, the pain had subsided to a dull ache, and I was watching Jurassic Park, when my Dad came in the room with a styrofoam cup. In the soft light of my laptop, the contents of the cup looked somewhat akin to urine, with a smell not unlike that of the dessicated carcasse of a 3 weeks dead muskrat. I blanched, then asked what it was. “Water and apple cider vinegar!” my dad responded, rather cheerily. “Mom said to sip it slowly, and there’s a whole pitcher out in the hallway!” As he saw my wry face, he was reduced to giggling like a fourth-grade schoolgirl who had worn a more expensive dress than her best friend. He proceeded to leave, still giggling, and I studied the cup. After thinking about it for awhile, and watching a T-Rex eat an electric fence, a lawyer, and portions of two Goodyear tires, I, singlehandedly, in an unselfish, heroic, and barely-believable act of unmatched courage (that, at the very least, should win me the “Blog and Blogger of the 18th Century” award), took a swig. I was surprised to find that, although it smelled horrible, and looked just as bad, it was truly awful. I honestly would have preferred the muskrat.

OH MY WORD! ROFL! that is hilarious! I could barely read it without bursting in laughter!
Sorry Jeremy! It was more for your mom’s benefit than yours…
btw… the mixture was supposed to have honey in it, so it wouldn’t taste *so* horrible!
Do you feel better tho? ;)
    you’re welcome too!

  20. Jeremy Says:

    No honey. Whatsoever.

I am feeling better, but now my Mom thinks it wasn’t strep. IDK anymore, I’m just glad to be un-quarantined!
