So glad for these Homeschool Memoirs Weekly Theme because I am getting things in order and thinking of things I want to do for “college” this year. It is so fun to have a weekly theme that I can think on and write about for what I am doing, want to do, or plan to do! I mean, I have let everyone know All About Me!, then I was able to make my Homeschool Agenda, and last week I made a Homeschool Routine. I am doing so much better now that I have started this awesome meme!
This week’s theme is fun!
This week I hope you’ll share something new you’re using, why you’ve decided to use it, and if you have used it how you like it. Make sure to include the publishing information and where you got it from so others can look into if they like.
Hmm… something new this year. Pretty much my whole curriculum is new with me being a homeschooling . Haha! :) So let’s see… something new…

Okay I just realized that your a homeschool student! LOL how neat to hear from a student! Enjoy Spanish. Hopefully it will be more fun than the spanish I had in highschool. We did worksheet after worksheet copied from an old Ditto Machine.. Look it up, they use a tray of water to print duplicate pages.. Anyway, the water mildews and has a horrid smell! Ew.

You name it; we’ve done it: Learnables, Powerglide, Amigos, and Destinos (video program). Does the ABEKA program give you DVDs to watch so you can hear the language?
    Have fun!
    Buena suerte! (good luck)

Both my kids, 10th & 7th grades, are taking Spanish and have for a few years now from a Mexican friend who is able to call her FIL when something comes up that she is unsure of. It is great to have such access as I only had one semester of Spanish in college and already the kids are beyond me!!

Thanks for your offer of help with Algebra 1 for my son. If we run into trouble I’ll probably post about it on my blog. I’m also going to take the advice of another commenter and another friend who work ahead of their child so that they are better able to help them. Pray for us as this was a difficult subject for me.

I have been wanting to learn a language for quite some time now, and I am at the point that I don’t care what language it is! I really enjoy learning languages too. We were in a Latin class for a while, and I really liked doing that, but then we moved and the teacher had to stop teaching. :(

We actually used to have the Rosetta Stone Spanish, but when we got our new computer, it wouldn’t work.

However, for this “school year” as I will be at my Aunt’s house, and she knows a bit of Spanish, and her daughter knows some Spanish as well, I am going to download a Spanish program onto my mp3 player. It won’t be quite as effective as a full course or anything, but I think that if I keep up at it, I might be able to have some converstations in Spanish by the time I come home.

Anyway, good luck with your Spanish!
Have a very bright, very cheerful day!

Oh, good. I hope you post pictures of the notebook that you make, because I would love to see it, as would Emily! I had a blast making mine, and I think they would make good gifts too. You could personalize it to the tastes and interests of the person you could give it to.

About HITT, thank you for your comment. I keep hoping that my articles are helpful to someone. It would be nice to hear if anyone actually did any of the things I suggested, instead of just reading the post and thinking it was a good idea. I am not saying that everyone has to do what I say, but it would be nice to have some feedback!

Ooo, I started Spanish a year ago, and never finished. But one day I will pick it back up! maybe when I’m in college.

Thanks for the comment. I really like the homeschool memoirs idea; I’m glad I joined in this week. Perhaps I will go back and do the first few for my own sake. :)

Can’t wait to see ya’ll tomorrow!

*sniff, sniff* Yes, Heather from Mrs. Momma broke the news to me. She and I are SG-1 and Atlantis fans. It was a sad surprise to me (well, on a scale of 1-10 on true sadness, I suppose it’s a 2 in the scheme of things). LOL
I broke down and bought the DVDs at Walmart. They do know how to keep you on the edge of your seat and they are not afraid to “kill off” a main character once in a while, which is a shock but makes the show better, actually.
How fun to discover you like Atlantis, too (when you can watch it). Have you ever seen Stargate SG-1? The early seasons are great, but stay away from seasons 9 and 10. They just went over the top on those and I didn’t watch more than a handful of episodes.

Hey! This is my first year of Spanish too! The local Spanish teacher retired last spring and is now teaching eight students from three homeschool families Spanish. We are using some secular textbook, but I like it so far.

BTW, the comment box is much easier to see now, but I am straining to see the white text.
