I am sure you have heard of the worldwide outreach of Voice of the Martyrs. I remember when I was younger, I would hear their little commercials on the local Christian radio. I remember as I used to hear the stories of men, women and children being persecuted for their belief in Christ, I would get tears in my eyes.
Since about January, when Heath Ledger died, I have really had a yearning for reaching the lost. Just last night, I finished reading “Run Baby Run” by Nicky Cruz and his amazing story of salvation and how he is using his story to bring more people to Christ’s kingdom!
I have an upcoming article I am sure you are going to enjoy and I am excited to share. It is in reference with the above. I would say what it is, but for the lurkers(read: stalkers) who stalk me and then post about things that I or any of my family have mentioned before we get to post ours!
Voice of the Martyrs is a outreach ministry that non-profit, interdenominational organization with a vision for aiding Christians around the world who are being persecuted for their faith in Christ, fulfilling the Great Commission, and educating the world about the ongoing persecution of Christians.
Their statement of faith says:
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, authoritative Word of God who is eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His personal return in power and glory.
We believe that for salvation of lost and sinful men, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in Christ.
Voice of the Martyrs have 5 purposes in their ministry:
Example: Bibles to Captive Nations
2. Give Relief
Example: Families of Martyrs
3. Evangelize the Persecutors
Example: Pastor Support and Training
4. Projects of Encouragement
Example: Action Packs
5. Inform the World
Example: VOM’s Free Newsletter
Voice of the Martyrs also has a Persecution Blog that they regularly update with information on our brothers and sisters in Christ in persecuted countries.
China is one of the world’s greatest persecutors of Christians and this year the Olympics are being held there.
Voice of the Martyrs wants you to remember to pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters in China who are suffering for their faith while the whole world is looking at China during the Olympics.
It is sad how we will watch the Olympics sports in China this year, even though we boycott other things from China. Guess that puts sports above other things, huh?
Voice of the Martyrs have a prayer band for you that will remind you to pray for the Chinese who are suffering for their faith while the whole world is looking at China during the Olympics. If you would like one, you can CLICK HERE TO GET YOUR FREE BAND.
I am going to get my prayer band and put the Chinese Christians on my prayer list and pray for them! As one of my favorite songs from Carman, says” I love Jesus, yes I do. I love Jesus. How about you?” Let’s share the love of Jesus to all the world!
By the way, I have added a new Witnessing Outreach Ministries blogroll on my sidebar. Those are some of my favorite ministries that minister to the lost!
Love, Prayers and Blessings,

Thanks for stopping by “Daily” at the “Planet”!!

Your post about the VOM Prayer Band is way better than mine! I never know what to say on posts like that, but *research* and knowing you subject is something I should know by now!
I am getting a prayer band too. I have a hard time remembering to pray for things, so it is ideal.
Have a very bright, very cheerful day!

Wow, what a wonderful ministry and a wonderful thing they are doing! I really needed to read this…
It’s easy for me to forget other brother and sisters-in-Christ who are suffering for our Lord. I need to be on my knees for them…

Brooke,
The same here! It is so easy for me to worry about my problems and everything I have to do, and totally forget about all the Christians in other countries who are persecuted. Not to mention the unsaved!
Reading Nicky Cruz’s book was really eye-opening and really put a yearning in my spirit to somehow witness to the lost! I am just praying that God will give me some direction in which way to do that.
Love,
Amanda

) Thank you fo rthis post it was great!
Great post, it’s to true that the Chinese are persicuted terribly. I remember one of our missonaries to China told us that they would each take a page out of the Bible and memorize it front to back and then they would switch pages, that broke my heart that they had to hide, and yet they were still so thirsty for the word.
We do need to reach the lost in our world (poor HL

I have heard of this ministry, but didn’t know what all it involved. Your post really educated me on it, and I thank you so much for that. What a wonderful and much needed ministry.
