I am seriously having a hard time grasping that it is the year 2009. Anyone else? 2008 was a very short year, yet it was full of beginnings, endings, hurt, joy, and everything else! God was definitely working and moving in my life and I am thankful for 2008 and everything I learned, did, grew in, everything! Both the good and bad because God was right there with me!

I *try* to keep a record of special things that happen throughout the year and I put it in my left sidebar, and had to update that stuff now that 2008 is over! I redid my bookshelf list, goals list, and happenings list.

I was just thinking today about making up a goal list for 2009! Funny how Jocelyn seems to always know just what I am thinking and uses it for the Homeschool Memoirs! I am really glad for this week’s theme: Making A List

This week I want to set our minds on setting some goals for next year, whether personal, for the whole family, or for school.

Before I get to 2009’s list, I want to share the list from 2008 and what got accomplished on it.

Get into God’s Word everyday. I was able to do this some of the year! It really was neat because I kept a journal with my Bible so I could write down passages that were intriguing to me or that I wanted to remember!

Talk with God daily. I really learned this year that we can’t just pray to God, we have to TALK with him and have a conversation with Him. I am really glad how I did it this year, but I am going to do it even more in 2009!

Be a better example. This will never be complete! but I hope that this past year I have been an example of Christ to everyone I know!

Work on my shortcomings. This too will never be complete as I am human! but God is still working with me on them!

Finish high school. Which I completed this past May! WOOT! :)

Get a laptop. Got my BEAUTIFUL Dell Vostro 1500 for Graduation!

Get the wireless network set up. That was so fun to learn how to do in February.

Sell the Horses. While they are gone, we didn’t get our money from the person who bought them.

Lose weight and get in better shape. I am not sure about any change on this one! :P

I want to see my Great Grandpa and Grandma saved. In September we found out that they really did know what salvation was and had prayed and asked forgiveness for their sins! HALLELUJAH!

I really want our house finished. While it isn’t finished yet, it is on its way and so very close to being complete! 7years is a long time!

Learn CSS. I have learned this, but not mastered it yet!

Learn Photoshop CS3. Same thing! Working on it!

Scrapbooks caught up. Oh… and another year behind. I didn’t even get my scrapbooks out! I would really love to though!

Learn to play guitar. Unfortunately I still don’t know how to play!

Become a better seamstress. Never took the time to learn this year!

Here are my 2009 goals so far:

Get into God’s Word everyday.

Talk with God daily.

Work on all my short comings.

Get on a schedule and stick to it better.

Lose weight and get in better shape by exercising everyday!

Read and accomplish The Love Dare. (I won from Art of Eloquence!)

Buy Fireproof the movie. (Comes out January 26th! WOOT!)

To see Growing In Grace Magazine in print form!

Help the widows and fatherless I know.

I want to learn Spanish, Hebrew, Sign Language, PHP, and CSS fluently.

Learn to play the guitar, piano and maybe the drums.

Learn to sew better! I want to learn to sew better so I will be able to
teach my girls how to sew really well.

Learn to crochet and make special things for my family.

I would like to make myself a new quilt. I made one in 2005, and it was my first time sewing so its not the best.

Master Photoshop CS3.

Learn more about photography and become a better photographer!

Get my scrapbooks caught up to present date!

I am sure I will be adding to it as the year progresses and I grow. I am really looking forward to the coming year! I know God will be doing amazing things in my life and I am fired and ready for them!

The Daily Life @ The Daily Planet

Published in Ahh!! Ugh!!, Being A Homeschool Graduate, Cal-Eb, Contests & Giveaways, Growing In Grace Magazine, HSB Literary Club, Home School Blog Awards, My Laptop, My Mama: My Best Friend, The Daily Life at The Daily Planet, The Fam, The Lamb Among Stars Series

Things have been really busy around here! Loads and loads to do! I can’t believe its Saturday again! :O I thought I would give you a little look into the daily life of SuperAngel and share some things that have happened lately!

We are purging, dejunking and cleaning out everything because we are moving. Although we have NO idea where we are moving besides the area of the West. :P Family wants to move to Texas… I don’t. I just can’t see the big pull to Texas. I have been there plenty of times and have not found it to my liking. :| We are just praying and discussing a lot right now.
I even cleaned out my room, well not room more like drawers of things, closet, etc… I got rid of as much as I could that was not completely necessary to keep due to sentimental reasons! Jocelyn, the GET RID OF THAT girl, helped me to throw out and get rid of some stuff. Thanks, Jocelyn… I think! :P

I took Jocelyn’s computer to the computer store yesterday. We should be getting it today. If you don’t know what I am talking about, you will after you know why Jocelyn asked, Can I Just Cry? Poor Girly!
Mama’s AC Adapter got here yesterday for her laptop! *everyone shouts YAY!* Finally we have 2 fast computers again. We were doing ok til Jocelyn’s died, then we were down to my Vostro and the old dinosaur that runs at like -60mph! haha! Seriously that computer is slower than slow! So we were all very glad that the AC Adapter came yesterday!
Oh! I don’t think I got to blog about this, but the day after Mama’s AC Adapter went out, mine went out too! :O We were really freaking! I called Dell and ordered a replacement and they told me I should get it Friday. This was a Wednesday nite. I was a little upset that I wouldn’t have a computer for that long, but it was only 2 days. Well imagine my surprise when DHL shows up the next afternoon with my AC Adapter! :D I was so thrilled! Dell is absolutely tremendous when it comes to service. If you are going to buy a computer, go with Dell! They are the best!

I finally got my Voice of the Martyrs Prayer Band
. yeah! It is pretty coolie! Funny that I got it the day the Olympics started. Hmm… that was probably intentional! :)

Spent yesterday and today listening to Mrs. Rushton’s Back-To-School-Blast conferences. They are really good and I have thoroughly enjoyed them! A lot of good information.

You have 4 days to enter in my The Infinite Day Review and Giveaway. I am really excited about this and hope you will enter! This series will really change you!

Speaking of books… I am pretty excited about the next HSB Literary Club book discussion. You really should join us. We will be starting soon… be sure to check the blog frequently, so you know what’s going on! We really want to get this kicking with the new school year and we are really looking forward to the next book we are reading: Enoch Roden’s Training by Hesba Stretton.

Also, be sure to go to HSBA for a chance to win The Schoolhouse Planner!

I have some more reviews I would like to write. I also have a really good post that I have written up, I just don’t think its the right time right now to publish it though! :) God’s time is the best time! That has become my motto. :) Such a reminder that God is omnipotent and things work out for the better when we follow His time, not our own!

We had a really bad storm earlier this week. We had seen some lightening, so we shut down our system and were talking, when I went outside to take a look. What I saw was really freaky. There was like black clouds coming down in funnel shapes. I ran in the house and told Mama and she came outside and saw it too in the lightening. Then we went in woke up Dad and made everyone go to the basement. A couple of the kids were freaking out. :P anyway, we ended up in the basement for like an hour to an hour and half. We were checking upstairs every once in awhile. Finally it had calmed down and we came up. When we came up, it was still lightening, so I got the camera and started getting some videos of the lightening. It was so awesome. The way the sky would just light up was absolutely amazing! I am working on editing the video, because a lot of it is just blackness, but it was so neat!

We are still planning and getting ready my college courses set and ready to go. Looking forward to it!

I have been doing quite a bit of running lately, and I absolutely LOVE it! I used to run ALOT when I was younger, and hadn’t done it for awhile, but now I am in track mode! :D Caleb even races me! He shares my love of running too! It is great fun and teaches great endurance!

Well, that seems about all for this week. We are just so busy and so lacking in computers right now that I hardly have time to write. I need to start on my September GGM articles too! Speaking of GGM, I finally wrote another Saints Gone Before. Yeah, its been forever, I know! :P

I hope you all have a great Saturday! Thanks for your support of The Daily Planet! I really appreciate you all!
Love, Prayers and Blessings,

Thanks for stopping by “Daily” at the “Planet”!!

The Perfect Gifts for the Graduated SuperAngel

Published in Being A Homeschool Graduate, Book and Literature Articles, Home School Blog Awards, Homeschooling Articles, My Laptop, The Daily Life at The Daily Planet

I am still working on writing about vacation. I just can’t believe how much we did. I hope I can get it done soon. So while you are waiting for those, I have a few other reads you can read about. :)

You know, I told you I graduated last month and I didn’t have a party or anything, but I did receive some perfect gifts I am so excited about. They are perfect because they are totally me!

First was my ! Man, this thing is amazing! It is has been so wonderful to have my own laptop. I am able to accomplish so much now! I love my Vostro! Mama and Dad, thank you so much for getting it for me!

Second was vacation! That was so great. Meeting my online friends in real life was so special and amazing. That is something I will never forget!

Third was an old book! Now if you have read any of my Book and Literature Articles, you know how much I adore old books! This particular book came from my Grandma. I got it when we went down to see her on vacation. She has a whole bookcase full of old books and I was able to look through some of them WOW! That was so great. The specific book she gave me is called “Adventures In American Literature“. I haven’t been able to read through hardly anything in it except for the index, but I simply cannot wait to dive into it. Some of the contents are:

The Short Story which includes stories by Nathaniel Hawthorne, O. Henry, Edgar Allen Poe, Jack London, Washington Irving, among others.
The Essay which includes works by Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry David Thoreau, Washington Irving, and many more.
Biography and Autobiography with works by Benjamin Franklin, Theodore Roosevelt, and others.
Historic Milestones with works by Patrick Henry, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, Woodrow Wilson, James Monroe and others.
Folk Literature includes songs by different genres.
Poetry has so many poems by many popular authors.
Early Northern Poetry with poems by Emerson, Longfellow, Whittier, Holmes, Poe, Whitman, Dickinson, Riley, and much more!
Twentieth Century Poetry
Humorous Poetry
Drama
and finally
History of American Literature: A Review and Reinterpretation with some truly amazing articles!
It even has lists of novels to read and biographies of many authors of the different centuries.

Doesn’t it sound just awesome? I am so excited to read it! I also found some papers in it. There is one that has writing from my Great Grandpa Duvall. It’s about John Greenleaf Whittier and what he thought about the author. It is really neat to read. I really don’t know much about my Great Grandpa, and this little piece of paper is him. It’s my heritage and it is so special!

Another book I am just dying to read is the new Chris Walley book from his The Lamb Among Stars Series! The Infinite Day came out on June 1st and with all the hussle and bussle of vacation, I wasn’t able to get it. I hope to be able to get it in the next few days though with some money I got from quietcajun for graduation. I am really excited to read it!Funny that I am talking about literature and books, because that is the topic I chose for Saturday Poetry and Literature: Summer Reading today at HSBA. You should check it out!

I finished all my GGM! I am so happy! It’s such a great feeling to know that I am finished and our July issue will be out soon! Now I can write exclusively about vacation!

For some encouragement on this Saturday, head over to Walking Therein for Saturday Psalm & Praise! It is back this Saturday and is in full swing! Look, its even got a awesome new icon you can use!

Well I hope you have a awesome day! It is beautiful out here and if it weren’t for the mosquitoes, I would go outside.
Love, Blessings and Prayers As Always,

Thanks for stopping by “Daily” at the “Planet”!!
